Building Resilience Through Local Systems and Partnerships

Communities across South Sudan face overlapping challenges, including climate shocks, food insecurity, and limited access to social services. Building resilience requires more than short-term responses—it requires strong local systems and partnerships.

Action Aid Initiative (AAI) works across the humanitarian–development–peace nexus to strengthen community capacity and institutional linkages. Through livelihoods support, nutrition-sensitive programming, climate-smart practices, and community preparedness initiatives, AAI helps households better withstand and recover from shocks.

Partnership is central to this work. By collaborating with government institutions, UN agencies, national NGOs, and community structures, AAI ensures coordinated, accountable, and locally led responses. This commitment to localisation and system strengthening is key to creating pathways toward long-term resilience and sustainable development.
