Action Aid Initiative (AAI) delivers integrated, community-centred programmes that address humanitarian needs while strengthening long-term resilience and systems. Our work is grounded in national priorities, evidence, and partnership with communities and local institutions.
Health and Nutrition
We support Primary Health Care services with a focus on maternal, newborn, infant and child health. Our interventions strengthen facility-based and outreach services, improve service quality, and increase access to immunisation, nutrition, and essential health care for vulnerable populations.
Social and Behaviour Change (SBC)
AAI embeds social and behaviour change across all programmes. We work with communities to promote healthy, protective, and resilient behaviours through community engagement, interpersonal communication, and multi-channel communication approaches that address social norms and barriers to service utilisation.
Protection and Gender-Based Violence
We implement protection and GBV prevention and response interventions that promote safety, dignity, and rights. Our work includes community-based case management, psychosocial support, awareness raising, and referral to essential services, with a strong focus on women, children, and persons at risk.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
AAI promotes safe water, sanitation, and hygiene practices integrated with health and nutrition programming. We support behaviour change initiatives that reduce disease risks and improve household and community wellbeing.
Food Security and Livelihoods
We strengthen household resilience through livelihoods recovery, agricultural support, village savings and loan associations, and cash-based assistance. Our approach supports food security while promoting sustainable income generation.
Education and Youth Development
We work with communities to improve access to education, promote school health, and support youth with life skills and vocational opportunities that enhance self-reliance and future livelihoods.
Climate Resilience and Disaster Preparedness
AAI integrates climate adaptation and disaster preparedness across programmes, supporting communities to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to climate-related shocks and emergencies.
